Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar vs. Apple Watch Series 5 Nike+ Edition—here's how they compare: ForbesFinds
is a smartwatch without peer. The crisp OLED screen is now always on, a trick that Apple was able to accomplish without sacrificing battery life . It’s perfect for getting necessary information at a glance without having to fully wake the device. It’s also much smarter when it comes to adjusting brightness, a benefit of the new always-on sensor.
If you opt for cellular connectivity, you have even more options. You can leave the phone at home and stream podcasts on the fly while you workout. You can also take calls, answer texts , manage your smart home and more. The Series 5 gets around 18 hours on a charge. You can disable the always-on display to eke out a few extra hours, but that’s about it. Unlike the 6X Solar, there’s no hopping outside for a quick run to get an extra battery boost. Whereas I can wear the Garmin to bed and benefit from sleep monitoring, if I load a sleep app on the Apple Watch and drift off with it, I’ll need to plan for it to be off my wrist sometime the next day for it to charge up.
