After this, the court heard he began experiencing increased "end of days" religious delusions, which led to him deciding to kill his mother and himself to "spare" them from "some form of Armageddon". Through tears she read her victim impact statement to the court and said what unfolded that day had left her with post-traumatic stress disorder.Since being imprisoned, she told the court her uncle has sent her numerous letters, which she felt obliged to respond to, despite it taking a major emotional toll."The thought of him alone in jail tears me apart even if it was his own fault."
