Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Gary Lineker and Micah Richards discuss the Manchester City match
Gary Lineker felt Morgan Gibbs-White "went down quite easily" in the incident that led to Rodri being sent off in Nottingham Forest's defeat to Manchester City.
Lineker questioned Gibbs-White's part in the fracas on The Rest Is Football podcast. The Match of the Day presenter said: "The Rodri red card was a surprise for a start, because he always seems in such control and he lost his rag a little bit. Gibbs-White was one of seven Forest players booked by Taylor, while City also collected three yellow cards on top of the Rodri red. City boss Pep Guardiola was unhappy with the referee's performance despite his team ultimately winning 2-0 thanks to early goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.
Former England striker Lineker replied: "No, I was cowardly on the pitch! I never even got a yellow card - I never tackled anyone in my life! You've got to remember, when I played, you had to commit grevious bodily harm to get a yellow card. I was kicked up in the air and I never retaliated because I always thought if I was getting fouled, I was doing my job, and that's part of a centre forward's job, to win free kicks from time to time and stuff like that.
