Man United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been promoted to the England senior squad for the first time for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium
England legend Gary Lineker has praised Gareth Southgate's management after he selected Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo for the senior squad for the first time.
When Southgate announced his England squad last week, some United fans felt Mainoo was unlucky not to be handed a senior squad call-up. The 18-year-old showed no signs of disappointment though as he starred in the Reds' victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon - a performance which was so good even Jurgen Klopp acknowledged him after he was substituted.
