According to a new report, consumers ages 14 to 24 overwhelmingly prefer physical stores for shopping, largely for mental health reasons.
81% of Gen Z prefers to shop in stores, and 73% like to discover new products in stores, according to a new survey by A.T. Kearney.

"I think one of the things the survey shows us is that, despite being the first full generation of digital natives, Gen Z is looking at brick and mortar retailing as a way to, 'disconnect,' from the stress of social media while at the same time getting emotionally closer to the online influencers and celebrities they follow," said Nora Kleinewillinghoefer, a principal at A.T. Kearney in a press release.
