BREAKING George Pell sentenced to six years in jail, with a non-parole period of three years and eight months georgepell pell
The judge has outlined George Pell’s personal circumstances.
The cardinal is 77 and for the past 22 years has been of good character, which made the offending isolated.‘‘Each year you spend in custody will represent a substantial part of your remaining age expectancy.’’He has cardiac and blood pressure problems, has a pacemaker, is affected by stress and recently underwent knee surgery.Judge Kidd says he is “satisfied [Pell] does not represent a risk of re-offending”, due to his old age and lack of other offending.
