Yvonne Longmire, 58, used another man—Maurice Ford, 22—to pose as her son to steal cash, police allege.
A Georgia mother accused of using an imposter to pose as her mentally disabled son in order to steal $200,000 has been arrested, police said yesterday.
It is alleged that the mother used another man—Maurice Ford, 23—to pose as her son in front of a probate court and a physician. The ruse was an attempt to convince them the son no longer had a severe mental disability and no longer needed a conservator for his fund, police said. An investigation was launched and the son became a ward of the state and was provided a guardian through the Division of Family and Children Services . After warrants were issued last week Ford was arrested in Arizona and is currently awaiting extradition.
