A Georgia woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to seriously injuring an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper when her vehicle plowed into his cruiser on I-71.
Judge Kim Brown will sentence Weil on July 24. She faces up to 6 ½ years in prison. Brown must suspend Weil's license for at least two years and can suspend it for up to 10 years.
Wilson, a trooper for 15 years, had stopped on the side of northbound I-71 around milepost 97, near U.S. 62, to pick up some debris in the roadway. The overhead emergency flashing lights on Wilson's patrol cruiser were activated, the patrol said.
