The first SITG festival since 2019 has deteriorated into muddy chaos as heavy rains and long lines take their toll on increasingly furious festival goers. Splendour 7NEWS
Those who have been looking forward to the event following the cancellations are similarly anxious to push through the chaos.“Once we’re all in there and the bands are playing, we’ll all forget about the s*** weather and absolute chaos of it all. Get some gum boots, get absolutely lit and solider on.”Even those who waited in the lines early and made it inside have reported their own set of problems.
“We were one of the first 10 cars in and they put us in the back corner forcing us to drive through this mud,” she wrote on Facebook.“We are now all flooded in and we have not seen a staff member since 2pm Wednesday to monitor the area.”Ten minutes down the road, the BEF satellite campground “is being offered as a solution to the impact of the recent floods on Splendour’s North Byron Parklands campgrounds,” the festival website said.
