After taking Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, GM Joe Schoen went with offensive tackle Evan Neal with his second pick of the top-10.
The Giants desperately needed to fortify their offensive line, which has been a longstanding issue. Getting a tackle to pair with Andrew Thomas, their first-round pick in 2020, was a logical move toward that end — and Schoen made sure to do just that.
Neal was No. 1 on The Athletic’s Freaks List this season, standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 337 pounds at the combine.
