It was a “Welcome to the NFL” wake-up call day for rookie cornerback Deonte Banks, who was no match for the veteran tight end Darren Waller.
A couple of one-handed catches — by third-string tight end Lawrence Cager and by starting safety Jason Pinnock — drew gasps from the fans. Pinnock’s highlight was in coverage against Darren Waller on the final play of practice. The officials blew the play dead for a “sack” just before a scrambling Daniel Jones threw the ball to the end zone and Pinnock skied for the catch. The offense had to run a sprint for losing that rep.
