The design inspiration this time was ancient Egypt, and in particular the legacy and style of Cleopatra. “Messika is all about empowering women, and Cleopatra is the epitome of feminine strength,” said Messika. Toni Garrn’s wide geometric choker was inspired by the dramatic doorways of Egyptian temples. Cindy Bruna’s broad collar paid homage to those worn by Cleopatra but in a wholly contemporary palette of white diamonds and gold rather than yellow gold and hard stones like lapis and turquoise.
