Netflix Scoop star and TV legend Gillian Anderson visited Mount Florida in Glasgow in the 1990s to help launch a new charity shop and there was a very touching reason why.
Gillian Anderson once took a trip to Glasgow to officially open a charity shop with a cause very close to her heart. The Sex Education star took a trip to Mount Florida in the city's southside in 1999, where she 'cut the ribbon' to help celebrate the launch of the Neurofibromatosis Association store on Cathcart Road.
It was her way of giving a helping hand to sufferers of the genetic disease that causes tumours to form throughout the body, also known as NF. Gillian - who stars in upcoming Netflix drama Scoop which revisits Prince Andrew's infamous BBC interview following sexual assault allegations - had embarked on a campaign with her mum Rosemary in 1998 to raise awareness and provide information and assistance for other NF sufferers.
