Gilly – who has nine England caps – believes the World Cup will entice first-time gamblers, who then might fall prey to a gambling addiction – particularly during theThe 31-year-old is open about her personal struggles with mental health and has supported the FA’scampaign to break the stigma and encourage people to speak up when they are struggling.

“With suicides linked to gambling, I don’t want anyone to feel that’s the only way out. You hear so many stories of people who take their own life and then people ask, ‘Why did they do it?’ and it comes out they were wrapped around debt and had so many money problems. “I just got into a really bad place where I felt isolated and didn’t speak to anybody and then I tried to take my own life through an overdose.”
