Cheers to this Ginger-Turmeric Tonic!
Make the tonic: Combine grated turmeric, ginger, ground cardamom, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 2 cups water in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or until fragrant. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a lidded heatproof container.
In a separate container, whisk together honey and lemon juice. Add to the turmeric mixture along with 2 more cups of water. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice or in the cocktail preparation below, and enjoy in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until chilled.
Strain into a new glass with fresh ice and garnish with a fresh piece of ginger and lemon zest. Enjoy!
