7NEWS: Niki Chrysanthopoulos suffers severe facial injuries after being attacked by dog in Drouin home
Niki was rushed to hospital with severe injuries to her face - some of which are expected to be permanent.“After surgery I was freaking out and I couldn’t look at my face because I was scared to see what I’d look like,” the 12-year-old said.Niki’s mother Tanya said she “did not hesitate” to put the dog down following the attack.
“On the outside he looked like a big gentle giant, he had a good heart, but in the snap of a finger he was a totally different dog,” she said. “I did not hesitate at all . He’s hurt my baby. At the end of the day, if a dog does that, it needs to be put down.”Niki may still require multiple surgeries, including reconstructive and dental work in the coming weeks.“When we saw the pictures of , it was just horrible,” Lawrence said.
