A Glasgow boxing club will be handing out bags of essentials to those in need this winter.

and goods to give out, following donations from parents of the academy.The bags include"essentials" and non-perishable goods that will be dropped-off at older or vulnerable people's homes.Deliveries will begin from Friday, December 23 and will last until Tuesday, January 3.

The group took to Facebook to share the initiative, stating that individuals that wish to use the service can do so"privately" and that the bag is completely free of charge. Anthony Quayle, coach at Southside Boxing Academy, told the Glasgow Times:"We had a fund to do this initiative through lockdown, but with the cost-of-living, we have decided to do it ourselves to help local people.

"We will be delivering the food to vulnerable and older people, and people hit hard by the cost-of-living crisis.Anthony added that the team have rallied up a"massive" box of goods for a local foodbank.The gym can be found at 179 Prospecthill Circus.
