Plans are in place to accommodate all the refugees, with many settling in neighbouring council areas, as the Scottish Government's ship contract ends this month.
Fewer than 50 Ukrainian refugees remain on a ship in Glasgow and plans are in place to accommodate them all, it has been reported.
Susanne Millar, chief officer of Glasgow’s health and social care partnership, told the board that plans for all those still on board are in place. He added the government and council are “working intensively to support the remaining guests on board to make an informed decision about their onward accommodation, which may include a hosted arrangement, social housing or alternative welcome accommodation”.
“Plans for all of those people are in place, so we will have worked to successfully decommission the use of the cruise ship, which was not a position anyone wanted to be in,” she added. “Most of the people who were accommodated in the ship have in fact been settled in neighbouring local authorities. Some slightly further away, we did work to prioritise people who would need to remain in Glasgow due to complexity or vulnerability.
