Hindus from across the city joined together to share their joy as they celebrated the birth of their god Ganesha, who symbolises wisdom, understanding and intellect.
St Patrick's Primary in Glasgow posted to their X page, formerly known as Twitter, in appreciation of their Hindu pupils:"So incredibly proud of our young people #confidentindividuals celebrating #GIGaneshUtsac today everyone looked incredible! Perfect way to start the long weekend! Well done everyone"
Joyful pictures were captured at the event, showing celebrants in traditional dress, playing drums and dancing in the streets.
