Temperatures are set to approach 30 degrees ☀️

Glasgow Livepreviously reported that the rest of this week will be predominantly cloudy, with some scattered rain showers. Next week, however, skies are predicted to clear up. Sunday will be the warmest day of the week — with peak temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius, according to the Met Office. And looking ahead to next week, though, things are expected to get even hotter.

Monday is forecast to reach highs of 26C and will be considerably sunnier. While clouds should hang around for much of the morning and afternoon, by around 7pm they should life and leave clear, blue skies. This means Glasgow will be as hot or hotter than cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, and Cape Town. The Met Office also has a 'high' UV warning in place

Locals are urged to prepare yourself for the heat, and familiarise themselves with heatstroke symptoms, be adequately protected from the sun and get plenty of shade. Moving into Tuesday, the mercury is expected to rise even further. Temperatures will reach highs of 27C, and should peak late afternoon. While it will be a bright and clear morning in the city, clouds will begin to appear in the skies just after lunchtime.

This won't stop the heat though, and the high temperatures are expected to continue well into the night. Trying to sleep in hot conditions can be difficult and uncomfortable, especially for Glaswegians who are not used to it.
