Byres Road is currently undergoing improvements. However, just a few months in, local residents have said the work is preventing the uplift of their bins, restricting their ability to park near their homes, and impacting income.

A busy west end street has become a nightmare for locals due to major road works that are expected to last until the end of the year.

However, just a few months in, local residents have said the work is preventing the uplift of their bins, restricting their ability to park near their homes, and impacting their income. One resident of Byres Road said their bins haven't been uplifted in four weeks and was told by a council official that refuse workers couldn't 'legally' stop on the road.

"It's disgusting outside. We've seen a few bins be individually picked up which doesn't resolve the situation. The council doesn't seem willing to offer a solution.Residents have also seen their parking spaces slashed to make way for the works with their vehicles being uplifted without warning and, in some cases, moved over a mile away.

"The only good thing is that there's less traffic in the area but because of the lack of signage, there are still a lot of drivers heading down the wrong way of the one-way street."
