Glasgow households could claim the money to help with their rising bills
People living in Glasgow who are reliant on alternative fuel sources have been urged to check if they could claim a discount of £200 to help them financially.
This includes people who heat their homes using tanked or bottled gas, liquid petroleum gas, oil, or solid fuels like coal, wood and peat.It comes amid a rise in bills with the cost of living crisis forcing millions of household to cut back and watch what they spend with the likes of shopping and energy bills among the essentials seeing a sharp rise.
How Glaswegians can apply for the £200 discount Scottish energy consumers who have not received the Alternative Fuel Payment can apply through the dedicated portal here.Hazel Knowles, energy project team lead for Advice Direct Scotland, said: “The cost of energy has increased considerably for everyone, but those who rely on off-grid and unregulated fuels face additional challenges.
“Our specialist advisers at energyadvice.scot can assist you if you would like more information on this payment and can direct you to additional sources of support that are available to help those struggling to afford the cost of alternative fuels.”
