Despite the mediocre results, general manager Billy Eppler still feels good about his Mets.
“I’m confident in Max,” Eppler said of the 38-year-old that saw his velocity dip in his last outing.“I’ve seen really irregular work,” Eppler said of Scherzer’s schedule, which has included dips due to health, as well as the 10-game suspension. The dip in fastball velocity Scherzer referenced could be a worry, but Eppler said that he’s gotten up to 97.1 mph.
Billy Eppler , pictured during spring training, said he still believes in the Mets’ roster despite their slow start.Eppler pointed to the fact that the issues on both sides have been more prevalent in the past two weeks after a strong start to the season.
