A Gold Coast bus driver has divided opinion over keeping passengers waiting while he stopped to get a coffee. Hundreds of people commented on 7 NEWS Gold Coast social media pages about the driver’s actions, including many who supported his decision to get a caffeine hit while getting people safely to their destinations. An annoyed passenger who supplied the footage to 7 NEWS claimed it took 10 minutes for the driver to emerge from the Southport cafe with his takeaway order.
“Make some coffee at home and have it available so you don’t inconvenience your passengers,” he said. “It’s about service. It’s the ultimate rudeness, really.” However, some people praised the man for trying to stave off fatigue. “He was probably exhausted and needed it to keep him going,” one person wrote on the 7NEWS Gold Coast Facebook page. “Bus drivers are humans as well.
