A Gold Coast man was allegedly kidnapped and tortured for hours before he was dumped in a suburb more than 60km away. 7NEWS
The 24-year-old man managed to escape, but the group fled with his mobile phone and the 22-year-old in the Mercedes.The 24-year-old was located with facial injuries and transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.The 22-year-old was allegedly driven a short distance before he was transferred to another vehicle and then transported to a secondary address, where he was allegedly tied to a chair, assaulted and threatened with what is believed to be a firearm.
Upon his arrival at 11.30pm, police located him with injuries to his face and wrists.The 24-year-old’s stolen Mercedes-Benz was located abandoned at Brighton Parade, Southport, about 9.45pm.Police are now appealing to anyone with information, or to anyone who may have witnessed something suspicious or captured dashcamera footage in the vicinity of Como Cres, Brighton Parade, or Park Lane at Southport on the night of Wednesday January 18, to come forward.
