Gold Coast mother-of-three Kelly Wilkinson ’s accused killer has pleaded guilty to murder. Brian Earl Johnston , Wilkinson’s estranged husband and a former US Marine, briefly appeared in the Supreme Court in Brisbane on Wednesday for his arraignment over the killing of the 27-year-old. Wilkinson’s burnt body was found about 6.40am in the backyard of her Arundel home in April 2021. Johnston, 37 at the time, was found by police semi-conscious and with burns about two blocks from the scene.
Johnston appeared briefly via video link to the court on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to Wilkinson’s murder.
