Golf superstar Rory McIlroy has poured cold water over a bombshell report that linked him with a move to LIV Golf , firmly planting his flag in the PGA Tour’s ground once and for all. McIlroy has been LIV Golf ’s biggest critic since the inception of the breakaway Saudi-backed competition almost two years ago, but has considerably softened his tone towards the circuit in recent months.
” Greg Norman’s LIV has already lured big name superstars like Aussie Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson and, most recently, Jon Rahm, who signed a deal believed to be worth as much $A900 million. McIlroy was once completely dismissive of LIV professionals, but has placated his view in recent times as the PGA and LIV tours have attempted to broker a merger of sorts. Speaking this week, he reiterated that he had no bad blood with players who decided to make the move.
