A man who apparently drowned was pulled from the Hudson River off Hoboken Saturday night following a good Samaritan’s attempt to save the victim, Hoboken police said. The police, in a series of tweets, said they and the city’s fire department were alerted by several 911 calls at about 8 p.m. that two people were in the river. Officers and firefighters arrived to find one man face down in the water and another man climbing out.
The man exiting the water, a 63-year-old from Hoboken, had made an attempt to save the other man, a 52-year-old Jersey City man who was dead when firefighters removed him from the river. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
