The former Parkhead boss has been involved as technical director at Dens Park since 2019.

Former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has admitted he doesn't like watching Dundee - because the Dens Park technical director gets "nervous" watching his side.

Tony Docherty will take his Dundee team to face off against the Scottish Premiership champions on Saturday afternoon as Brendan Rodgers looks to continue the Hoops momentum after picking up derby day victory over Rangers before the international break. And while clubs don't usually relish a trip to Celtic Park, Strachan insists the game is not different for him - and the former Celtic boss will struggle to watch the clash.

The former Scotland and Parkhead boss returned to his first club in July 2019 as technical director and has been a key figure in Tayside ever since. However, he concedes it can be hard for him to watch on from the stands at times when speaking to Gambling Zone. Before the visit to Celtic, Strachan said: “To be honest with you, I don’t really like watching Dundee playing because I get nervous as a fan.

"I hope that I can hide it well! It doesn’t really matter who we play, I’m always nervous because I’m desperate for the players to do well. "I’m not worried about myself. I just want these players and the people at the club to do well and experience a wee bit of success because I know how hard they all work at the club.”
