Broncos hooker Billy Walters has slammed critics of his father, coach Kevin Walters, as having “short memories” after his side’s season was officially ended against the Storm.
However, his son defended his father’s tenure at the club and told Triple M the criticism was “unnecessary.” Brisbane sat third after 11 rounds but lost six straight between rounds 12 and 19 to slip outside of the top eight, where they would end the year. Walters also believes the club’s off-season business leading into the year hindered their 2024 fortunes, with the club parting ways with Tom Flegler, Herbie Farnworth, Kurt Capewell and Keenan Palasia before a ball had been kicked.
