Governor Murphy has pledged to turn New Jersey into a 100% clean energy state by 2035, a bold and aspirational goal that we all can endorse with a chorus of cheers.
At the same time, he has failed to prevent another gas-fired power plant from being planned for the Ironbound section in Newark, probably the most polluted community in the state. Another gas plant is being proposed for NJ Transit in Kearny. Ditto for Keasbey, the section of Woodbridge with the largest minority population.
