A Heat-Health Alert issued by the government shows Nottinghamshire could be disrupted by the so-called mini-heatwave. .
The Met Office predicts highs of 28C by about 5pm on Monday in Nottingham. There's expected to be similar temperatures on Tuesday, September 5, with the temperatures in this time surpassing the highs in the Greek island of Mykonos. The warmth will hang around for the weekend, with a maximum temperature of 25C expected on Saturday and Sunday. The weather health alert predicts "minor impacts" for the health and social care sector with an "increase in risk of mortality amongst vulnerable individuals."The Met Office's long range forecast suggests sunshine the following week ending Sunday, September 17, could be "limited by areas of clouds, with a possibility of showers or thunderstorms".
