The Prime Minister said the inquiry into Australia's response to the COVID-19 pandemic would focus on the Federal Government but would also look at state governments.
The Federal Government will call a royal commission or similar inquiry into Australia's response to the COVID pandemic"as soon as practicable" - an inquiry which would mostly focus on the response of the Federal Government but would also look at state governments' responses to the pandemic, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has told Sunday Agenda.
"Primarily it would be about the federal government, that's what we have responsibility for but the interaction between the different levels of government of course were critical to the response to the COVID pandemic . . .the response of various government agencies, how it operated .. and it exposed some of the difficulties with our federation, with overlapping responsibility," he said.
