With the government set to reintroduce the contentious medevac bill in the Senate, Ed Husic says it must have made a secret deal otherwise “why would you bring the vote on”.
Crossbench Senator Jacqui Lambie has reportedly backed the government when it reintroduces the bill on Wednesday. Mr Husic told Sky News the Morrison government had been “relentless” in its pursuit to “get their way”.
“This bill has not led to the type of things the government said would happen,” he said. “Frankly, it has worked effectively, efficiently, fairly, humanely and for the government to do this is something driven by pride and arrogance rather than recognizing this is a bill that has done what it is supposed to.”
