The 2021 Australian of the Year was attending a morning tea hosted for the finalists of this year’s award at the prime minister's residence in Canberra. Ms Tame appeared stoic as she watched Mr Morrison and his wife Jenny pose for photos with other people, before approaching the pair with her fiancé Max Heerey.“G’day,” she responded.“Thank you,” Ms Tame said, appearing to avoid eye contact with the prime minister.But Ms Tame then appeared visibly reserved as photos were taken next to the prime minister.
She had earlier tweeted an image about her two days in Canberra stating: “On second thoughts let’s not go to Canberra. It’s a silly place."
