Former Australian of the Year and sexual assault survivor Grace Tame said she told police multiple times about threatening messages she alleges came from her childhood abuser but “no changes have come about”.
Tame was a student in Hobart when she was sexually abused by her 58-year-old teacher Nicolaas Bester in 2010. He was later sentenced to two years and 10 months behind bars for the abuse of Tame, who was 15 at the time, and served one year and eight months in prison. In one post, the account which allegedly belonged to Bester said it “shall come for” an email address Tame said she once used. The account is now suspended on Twitter.
