It was hit last week
Graffiti has appeared across a long established Nottingham restaurant in the city centre. The popular Indian Restaurant, Mogal-E-Azam, was hit last week.
The owner explained that the vandalism has been reported to the police and the restaurant is still open for business. Mogal-E-Azam has been running since 1977 and is known in the city for its authentic and freshly prepared dishes. A spokesperson for the restaurant explained that the graffiti is just one of a string of incidents the business has had to endure. After being informed of the red paint across the building's exterior, they said: "I went down there and I called the police and reported it."They said the graffiti has had an impact as during the week of Monday, December 5, they took in half as much profit as they did the previous week.
The cost of living crisis had made things more difficult, they said - but added that "something is happening every week" at the restaurant. Recent incidents include a group of people who came in allegedly "shouting" and "swearing" and the theft of around £2,000 in alcohol. The spokesperson added: "Alcohol is expensive, and they took all the bottles." The business confirmed it had reported these incidents.
