Scottish National winner Kitty's Light would bid to be the first Welsh-trained winner since Kirkland in 1905 for trainer Christian Williams, whose young daughter Betsy is being treated for leukaemia. After Cheltenham, British Horseracing Authority chief executive Julie Harrington said the domination was "damaging" the sport and said more needed to be done to encourage the top horses to be bred, owned, trained and raced in Britain.

2024 Grand National: Weather forecast for Aintree RacecourseThe 2024 Grand National will take place next week, with the thousands of spectators attending hoping for dry weather. The festival launches with Grand National Thursday on April 11, before Ladies Day on Friday, April 12 and Grand National Day on Saturday, April 13, when the famous steeplechase will take place.
