A grandmother is dead and four other people, including an 8-year-old boy, are hurt after a car plowed into them in Brooklyn. As NatDuddridgeTV reports, police say it happened after the driver sped away from a traffic stop.

According to police, a sergeant and two police officers were patrolling on Ralph Avenue when they spotted a vehicle with mismatched plates. They said two people inside the vehicle also appeared to be smoking marijuana.

At Halsey Street, the driver allegedly struck another pedestrian, then crashed into a vehicle. Two passengers then got out and ran. "While we were walking that way, we saw the man on the car and then the lady in the street, and I ran inside and I grabbed like a shirt -- because that's what I do, I sell shirts -- and then I took it and I wrapped his arm," one witness said.
