The 56-year-old grandmother is determined to cross the Atlantic on a 3,000-mile journey and hopes to inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles
BREAKING BOUNDARIES: Victoria is preparing to row solo across the Atlantic, covering 3,000 miles from the Canary Islands to Antigua
Victoria, who gave birth to her son, Dan, at the age of 19, felt that becoming a parent at that age meant she “didn’t get a chance to be more adventurous” in her younger years. However, it wasn't until her mid-40s when she fell out of love with her work that she decided to embark on a new journey, eventually selling her estate agent business.At 46 years old, Victoria learned to swim despite feeling vulnerable at first.
Victoria shared that she hadn't identified herself as a swimmer when she was younger. However, in 2014, after witnessing her friends accomplish an Ironman race, she took the plunge and started to learn how to swim.It was in 2015 when a friend approached her about their Atlantic rowing endeavour that she learned about ocean rowing. Victoria donated £5,000 in corporate sponsorship, and since then, she's been preparing to row the Atlantic herself.
