An Australian woman is feared missing in Israel following a surprise attack by Palestinian terror group Hamas over the weekend.
The unnamed woman has not been accounted for in Israel, according to 7News after the Middle Eastern country was hit by thousands of rockets and air and land strikes on Saturday.
“I’m aware of the speculation around that, but I’m not in a position to confirm any details in respect of that person,” he told Sunrise on Tuesday. “Australian officials are monitoring the situation closely and remain in touch with local authorities,” a spokesperson said. Smartraveller heightened its warnings overnight to"reconsider your need to travel" and"avoid all non-essential travel".
