While Tasmania's shipbuilder is 'proud and excited' to build seven new Parramatta ferries, NSW Premier Chris Minns has been accused of breaking an election promise.
Richardson Devine Marine Constructions will build seven new ferries for the Parramatta River as part of the NSW government's commitment to replace the RiverCats, and end offshore construction.
RDMC sales and marketing manager Roger Janes said the company was"proud and excited" to build the"diesel powered, low wash, fuel efficient" ferries, carrying up to 200 passengers. "RDM have been building aluminium commercial vessels on the Hobart waterfront for 34 years. They have an impressive portfolio of 80 previous builds," Mr Janes continued.
