Adelaide is quickly evolving into a hub for video game developers, as annual revenue for the Australian gaming and e-sports industry is expected to reach almost $5 billion by 2025.
Gaming studios like Foxie Games are representative of the state’s growing role in the gaming industry, expanding from just three employees in 2017 to 30.
The studio’s flagship game, Horse Riding Tales, has been downloaded by over 20 million players on the app store and is currently the number one mobile horse-riding game in the world. Mighty Kingdom is the largest Australian headquartered game developer, and is still based in Adelaide – with CEO Philip Mayes telling Sky News Australia the city was “a great place to grow a company”
