“The year it was canceled, I met a few friends and we ran the course anyway,” he said. “Over the years, all the Perfect Great Racers have gotten to know each other. We treat the race as a big reunion. You definitely don’t want to let each other down by not showing up.” Klanchar said he’s been able to maintain his fitness through the years by running every day and doingwith low weights and high repetitions. “The weights keep me loose and strong,” he said.
