A senior officer at Greater Manchester Police has been suspended, the force has announced. It follows an allegation of misconduct made against the officer.
The IOPC will consider the officer's 'standards of professional behaviour', GMP says. The force has not named the officer, given their rank or the district where they work. GMP has also not released any further information about the nature of the complaint so far. In a statement issued this afternoon, Deputy Chief Constable Terry Woods, QPM said: "Following an allegation of misconduct, a senior officer has been suspended from duty and referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for investigation into their standards of professional behaviour."
