Greece has begun administering vaccinations for COVID-19 outside churches in a pilot program recently announced by the government as a means of encouraging more people to get the shots.

The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be offered, and no appointment is necessary in the supermarkets, authorities said. “We want to ensure that the offer of vaccination is as accessible as possible, so that, for example, it is possible to get a shot, while shopping,” said Soeren Brostroem, head of the Danish Health Agency.

More than 80% of people over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated in Denmark, and the country has a target of reaching 90% of people above the age of 12 by Oct. 1.———
