Dollyrots, GreenDay, Pixies & more took to social media to pay tribute to Muffs singer KimShattuck
bassist/singer Kim Shattuck on Wednesday , showering love and admiration for the beloved L.A. punk stalwart who died at age 56 after a two-year battle with ALS. Shattuck, best known for fronting pop-punk band The Muffs in the 1990s, was also a member of the Pandoras and the Coolies and sat in on vocals with bands including Bowling for Soup and NoFX, as well as briefly replacing Kim Deal in The Pixies in 2013.
Among those singing her praises was Green Day singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, who said in a tribute that she was "one of my favorite songwriters," writing that the band played the Muffs' debut album over-and-over while they were working on their breakoutalbum.
