“Frankly, I find it disappointing to see that not everybody has signed it. Where’s Labour and the Conservatives on this agenda? Ms Lucas added: “What I like about the manifesto is that it’s very practical about giving more powers to the regulators, about looking at the role of intensive agriculture which all too often gets overlooked, as well as how“I would urge Keir Starmer and indeed the Conservatives to sign this manifesto now to demonstrate that they are genuinely committed and are willing to be held accountable for their delivery of what is in that manifesto.
“It’s our number one priority. For it to be anything less than that to the Government is unacceptable.”England’s rivers were once havens of biodiversity, but the vast majority are now struggling to support healthy ecosystems of plants and wildlife. Just 14 per cent of rivers in England are currently in good ecological health and not a single river has achieved good chemical health.
