Greens leader Adam Bandt is talking up a power-sharing arrangement with Labor and it makes Anthony Albanese uncomfortable.
has renewed his bid for the balance of power after the election, promising to hold an Albanese Labor government accountable on carbon emissions, health and housing., Mr Bandt kicked off the minor party’s campaign in Melbourne, pushing to oust the Coalition and install the Greens as the decisive vote in the Senate.
The Greens also want to scrap the Coalition’s stage three tax cuts and spend billions abolishing university loans. “In balance of power, the Greens will take climate action by stopping new coal and gas mines, getting dental and mental health into Medicare and fixing the housing affordability crisis.”from any power-sharing promise by the Greens, saying he won’t make deals if Labor falls short of an overall majority.
The Greens’ multinational tax crackdown will target profit shifting, complex corporate ownership structures and anti-transparency measures. Mr Bandt says companies such as Exxon Mobil, Apple and big four consulting firm PwC would pay more tax under a Greens-Labor government.“The Greens will fund our plans by making billionaires and big corporations pay their fair share of tax,” he said.
