Abbott’s campaign team confirmed that he’s also turned down other out-of-state speaking opportunities during the Texas Legislative Session, which runs through May 29. “Clearly, there’s some constitutional amendment that voters supported back in the day that says, ‘If you’re a governor of Texas, you must consider running for president,’” he told the Associated Press earlier this year.
